In Valencia we placed our eyes upon the fall of myths, the last decade in Spain. It is hard to see everything we have been taught as progress collapsing and losing it’s worth. We stood in silence looking at the ruins that surrounded us. And an energy invaded us, an urge to explode.
“But Paco didn’t talk of disappointment. ‘Excess’, that was the concept he emphasized. He said that Valencia had been excessive and that wherever he looked he saw it and he was surprised. That day we walked here next to this abandoned formula 1 circuit that is now only used by dog walkers.”
